Carbon Fibre Structure

Lightweight but super-durable. This Toray 100% 10-Layer Carbon Fibre construction offers much greater strength over aluminium tripods, as well as greater stability and you'll experience fewer vibrations. As well as this it is, of course, lighter than aluminium tripods which makes it ideal for travelling photographers who need a lighter kit bag.

Semi-Automatic Leg Angle Stops

An intelligent design choice sees the addition of semi-automatic angle stops. This system allows for precise changes to leg position to best suit your shooting scenario. You can pull out the angle stop, adjust the leg to your desired angle, slightly depress the stop and it will ratchet into place and automatically lock. This means you can pack away the tripod and when arriving at your next location, the tripod legs will deploy to your set position. Ultimately, this flexibility allows you to confidently shoot at full extension or ground-level.

Low-Profile Ballhead

The included ball head offers a versatile range of movement which in turn, allows you to acquire the perfect positioning for your image. It has a large and ergonomic main locking knob that's easy-to-use and provides great handling. This, combined with the machined ball joint makes for pleasingly smooth operation. The head has an arca-swiss compatible fitting allowing the use of a wide range of quick release plates. Finally, the panning base has a laser-engraved scale for precise panorama shooting.

FAQs:

Should I go for a Carbon Fibre or Aluminium tripod?

There are various factors to consider when deciding on a tripod. Carbon fibre tripods, by nature, have a very high strength-to-weight ratio. This means that tripods made from carbon fibre are both very strong and lightweight, and can withstand more weight without the chance of collapsing.

Whilst aluminium isn't the strongest metal, it's a versatile material for tripods. It's reasonably strong and is more pliable than carbon fibre meaning that if your tripod has an impact, it's less likely to snap. Whereas, carbon fibre is much more rigid and therefore is more prone to cracking or shattering.

So, which to go for? It depends on the kit you're going to be using with it, whether you're travelling or the environment you'll be shooting in.

Can I use my Arca-Swiss plate with the ball head?

Yes! The head has an Arca-swiss style clamp which will allow the use of Arca-swiss QR plates.
